Default 3/6.Online. I missed a value bet :-(

I know I missed a value bet on the river here, not being results orientated, but villain had no reason to suspect he could c/r me.

Any other errors in the line I took ??

UTG: I have a note saying he is very loose in calling raises. K5o from MP and Q6o for 3 bet from the SB. I have no idea what his UTG raising range is.

I paid to post, hence only 1sb for me to call. If it were 2sb I would have passed.

Preflop: Hero is in the CO-1 with T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
UTG raises, 4 folds, Hero calls 1sb after posting, 2 folds, SB calls , BB folds.

Flop (7SB) 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
SB checks, UTG bets, Hero calls, SB calls.

Normally a raise for me here, not sure why I flat called. MUBS maybe.

Turn (5BB) J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
SB checks, UTG bets 6, Hero calls 6, SB calls 6.

River (8BB) 9
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero checks like a fool !!

Yeah, there should have been a flop raise. The problem is as played, you can't really raise the turn. The river might be a closer decision than you think. I probably bet that, but I can't blame you for checking it. The SB has to be sticking around for a reason.

If you hadn't posted your BB in H/J I would have folded even against this weird player. Given that you posted, I wonder if a raise would be better than a call!? But calling seems fine.

Yeah, I think with the guy behind you and a decent sized pot this really needs to be raised at the flop with top top.

MUBS maybe

I'm not sure if I'm too nerd, or not nerd enough to know what this means.

As played, I torn with what to do on the turn. Part of me wants to raise, the other wants to call.

Yeah I think this is an easy river value bet. I think you'll be called with a worse hand more times than called with something better. I'd generally fold to a check-raise from either of them.

Can you explain why you like a raise on the flop but not on the turn?

Uh, I guess he could raise the turn in theory. I just don't think it's a very good idea. I think the J is about one of the worst cards that could come for hero's hand. Given how bad we know villain is I think most of the time if he's still betting we're behind. We're a lot more likely to be good on the flop.

If one thinks that getting rid of the SB is worth putting in the extra bet then a raise makes sense. Just given what we know I think we're behind the majority of the time on the turn. Too bad we don't know more about villain.

Why?

I think you're giving UTG far too much credit. Ace-high and pairs<10 are betting a lot here in this game.
