NL50: TPTK in raised pot with possible straight on board.
Villain new to table so no reads. For those of you who have read PNL, this is pretty much the perfect SPR for TPTK. Am I sucking it up and considering myself "reluctantly committed" or is this a fold?

Re: NL50: TPTK in raised pot with possible straight on board.
actually, i think its a pretty easy fold. whatever spr formula you're using would have to be adjusted to account for the asston of hands that beat you here. there's a lot more that's ahead of you here than a straight.

Re: NL50: TPTK in raised pot with possible straight on board.
you've committed 24 BB to the hand. Two pair/j9/aj are all likely here, especially two pair like kq. There's absolutely no reason to stack off on this board for 85BB.

Re: NL50: TPTK in raised pot with possible straight on board.
Your SPR may be favorable, but that's a really horrible way to flop TPTK.
I don't think the decision is super-easy, though, since there is some chance Villain has a hand like KJ for top pair and an OESD, and then against some of his better hands (like QT), you do still have reasonable outs, getting 2:1. But I would fold. |
