Can't remember why i checked flop, but i dont normally check flop like that. My real question for this post was what i should do when he min raises me on the turn, as possible straight and flush out there. check on flop makes this turn even harder to play.

After turn raise you're getting just under 3.4:1 or so on a 10 out draw. The hands he'd do that with will pay off a majority of the time if you hit, making your implied odds good enough to call.

I normally play nl50, but I bet sets all day on the flop, turn, river and I am amazed how well the get paid off.
