Default legal advice?

i have court at 1030am for a 'failure to obey traffic signal' for running yellow light.

i have never been to court for something like this before.

im guessing pleading NOT guilty is best idea but are they going to ask me to defend myself or just let me go or tell me its postponed to another date?

suggestions?

bringing a gun or two is the best way to defend yourself imo, i am currently enrolled in a prestigious law school so my opinion is very valuable

They won't ask you to defend yourself.

I think it's odd that you're going for an arraignment. Usually you plead guilty or not guilty on your ticket and if you choose the latter then you have to go to court.

Either way every court I've ever been to will finish a traffic ticket hearing in one session if possible. You will plead not guilty and they will either be dicks and just write you off as guilty anyway, or they will arrange some kind of deal with you where you plead guilty to a lesser charge, or you'll be really lucky and they cop won't be there so they'll dismiss it. But generally it all depends on what kind of mood they're in and how much money they need to collect.

I think if you plead "not guilty" they set another date up but I'm not 100% sure.

damn dude, just mention you were under the speed limit and you did not speed up but had no chance to stop or you'd end up in intersection but you did not go thru a red light

they will let you off, the cop isn't showing up for that anyway
