Default Bankroll. Where to use it

so i have a small bankroll about $300. where should i use to it to build it the most effectivley. i consider myself a good SNG player and Heads Up . does this mean i should stay away from cash games. i have access to a casino that has limit (1/2) and No Limit (1/2). i have played many hours on the limit tables but never the Nl (they have been here for only 2 months or so). where would be the best place to expand and learn alot at the same time, probly SNG's and tourneys ? the only advantage to a cash game is that i can walk whenever i feel need. does anyone have any advice?

You can probably answer this qustion yourself, but you need to know the answer to many other questions first.

1. DO you prefer live or online?
2. How tough are the games live? Is the rake very big?
3. How risk-averse are you?

I personally would try to play the live 1/2 No Limit game, buying in for the minimum and playing super-tight to begin with, looking to get all-in pre-flop with 1010+ and AK. This will likely be quite boring. You can use the many hours between playable hands watching the other players and learning from the mistakes they make. When you have sufficient funds to be able to buy-in for more, say $120-150 when you have $1000, you will have some idea of how to make decent money exploiting these mistakes.

A note of caution: you must change your strategy after you have doubled-up, as your play will become exploitable by the better players in the game. If you are not sure what to do there is no shame in quitting and coming back another day with the minimum again, until you have more idea how to play a bigger stack.

I think No-limit will continue to be the most profitable game available for some time yet.

However, dont fall into the trap of learning from the bad players in the game. Keep posting hands here, not just on hands you have played either, and look for mistakes. This is where your profit will come from.

Good luck

If you are a decent SNG player, hang out in the STT forum here and learn all you can about ICM, etc.

If you can deal with playing the correct SNG strategy (weak-tight early, pushbot late) and multitable, SNGs provide the best earn for the lowest bankroll. If you can maintain a 15% ROI at the $10 SNGs you can make the best use of a $300 bankroll with a low risk of ruin providing your learn the correct strategy and implement it.
