Default B&M\'s getting ready for a change.

"“Sit-n-Go” poker has been
added to the multitude of
table games already available
at Commerce Casino. They
won’t be your run-of-the-mill
event, because the latest electronic
poker table will be the
home for these single table
tournaments."

Agree, move to B&M.

This sounds awesome to me. More hands per hour + typical casino fish - tips = a big ass improvement! It may draw more fish than hand-dealt games, due to faster play (more action). Also less boring for a tight player like me.

Default Disagree, this IS the road to the Future for US Internet Gaming

Disagree, this IS the tip of the US Internet gaming iceberg.

I posted why elsewhere in the thread. My post is based upon discussions with principals working for the larger US B&M's.

Most live fish think online is rigged. They might not like their luck at these tables and quit poker

No doubt. Some will prefer live tables for a variety of reasons, including thinking the game is rigged. Some folks at my local B&M don't even trust the autoshuffer. Others, however, will prefer it for the speed and action (hell, they play electronic slots, right) and convenience. I guess they'll find out for sure when they try it.

No looser wants to look into the mirror and face his/her biggest problem they'd prefer to go to a poker forum and develope a theory!

Default Re: B&M\'s getting ready for a change, bigger than the OP thinks.

This thread is just the tip of an iceberg and does NOT belong in the B&M forum. It is part of Internet Gaming and Legislation discussions.

When you think that B&Ms are getting ready for a change, do not limit yourself to a S&G run on a single table.

What B&M casinos have been getting ready for is "server-based" gaming, first with a server located on the premises, then, with a remote server handling ih-house gaming from the B&M locations. This effort, on the regulatory front, has been ongoing for 2 years at least, acquainting local/state gaming regulators with the concept of a "server-based" game platform.

THAT is how and why B&M 's (MGM, Sand, Harrahs, Stations) are getting ready for a change, which, follow me here .... will take about as long as the "study" bill before Congress.

The jump from "remote server-based gaming serving B&M customers to remote "server-based" gaming over the "Internets" will not be tough, IF regulators get comfortable with "servers" first in a B&M environment.
