Default They showed me their cards

Sometimes it's to show that they aren't bluffing. The amateur thinking is that I will fold more when they are actually bluffing. (yawn)

But usually, they are showing a cold bluff. Congratulations, do they honestly believe that I wouldn't have called if I could?

My style is hyper LAG. Do these people believe that I am hitting every flop? The most bizarre thing is when I fold my SB (almost never happens) and they show me their 53 offsoot.

Does any one on this forum show their cards (obv not). What are these people trying to accomplish? Are they attempting to tilt me? What are they trying to set me up for? I know that I should be able to gleen something from this free info, but what is it?

I rarely show my cards at HU, I don't believe I need to give my opponents any *free* information. I'm of the mindset that the only time someone should be showing their bluffs is when they've been caught and called on the river.

Most of the time people pick the crappiest moments to show their hands too... I remember playing $100 NL and the guy I was playing with revealed his cards twice when he was bluffing and I was able to just remember his betting pattern for a bluff. It's usually counterproductive so I don't see why people do it.

Yeah, it does actually. I don't comprehend one-up-manship.

It doesn't tilt me, but I would like to know exactly how to exploit the extra info.

I like it when they show there winning "close to nut" hand as it keeps me level and stops me making a hero call next time they take the same line. Different when an agro donk shows it though as my opinion of him changes not 1 little bit.

I actually had a guy about 2 weeks back who showed EVERY hand and asked me to as well! I showed a few but only in order to set him up, never show normally.

I auto muck, best decision I ever made. It's easier to tilt people with a little subtle chat "lol" "nh" "you deserved that" or "nice preflop call." That last one is the best because they always come out and defend their action, when they do that you have won, just ignore them and let them keep typing, tilt soon follows.

As far as opponents showing me their cards, I tell them "nice bluff" or "nice hand" 99% of the time. I want them to think I approve or envy the play, I want them to try to do this kind of stuff more often. If you agree with somebody they don't often change their "style" or "technique." If you start arguing and tilting you not only play worse but you have no idea what your opponent will do next time, he's more likely to get tricky. I don't like tricky.
