NL25 A9s otb pf question
I don't really think isolating shortie is a great idea, really quite loose/bad like 38/20/3. Mucking from button 5 handed seems silly as well. Do you limp in these situations? Blinds PFR stats both less than 10% fwiw.
Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) SB: $41.90 BB: $33.20 UTG: $7.75 CO: $24.30 Hero (BTN): $26.70 Preflop: Hero is dealt 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 Players) UTG calls $0.25, CO folds, Hero calls $0.25, SB calls $0.15, BB checks |

Re: NL25 A9s otb pf question
Isolating shorty is great here, he'll fold most of the time, and even when he doesn't your hand is still far ahead of his limp/calling range and you will have position on him

Re: NL25 A9s otb pf question
Sounds like your way ahead oh shortie's range, I raise, but sometimes won't cbet if I didn't hit and think villain is capable of a light c/rai which seems to be the case here.. Basically just raising for value - if you hit you'll usually get all shortie's chips, if you miss check it down/giveup.
Edit: well maybe not giveup.. usually you can find a decent spot to take it down |

Re: NL25 A9s otb pf question
your hand really sucks multiway. It will get most of its value from a raise+cbet

Re: NL25 A9s otb pf question
So he is raising a lot of hands and limping a lot of others. That means his limping range is basically trash. Your hand is like top 10% and you have position and no-one is likely to get out of line and squeeze you. Yet for some reason you limp. huh?

Re: NL25 A9s otb pf question
Thanks. Somewhat trivial question IMO. Maybe not. I guess not much different than ATs which certainly raise. How low do you go? Same as standard range? Ignore sizes? What about a hand with better implied odds?

I am potting anything I would normally raise otb here.

Re: NL25 A9s otb pf question
I might not play some connectors/drawing hands in this situation - much prefer high card hands that are more likely to hit the flop
