Default Using Laptop with Dell UltraSharp 3007WFP

I read through the faq but I'm unsure whether or not my specific video card can run monitor at its native resolution.

I use the geforce go 7900gs on my laptop

http://www.nvidia.com/object/go_7_series_techspecs.html

that would be the specs I guess?

help me please : ( I really wanna get rid of both my monitors (dell 24" widescreens) to use this one.

From what I saw from searching google, it seems this card in a laptop does not support dual-link which would not all the monitor to run at its higher resolution 2560x1600, but would only allow 1280x1024. It does seem unclear as whether it definitly does support it or not, there could be certain drivers that would work or something. It also could be laptop dependant so your certain laptop may support dual link with that card.

the dvi link in my laptop matches the pic of a dual-link plug in the faq...I'm just very unsure about the 2560x1600 resolution

I need to borrow your thread

Im looking for a laptop that has dual-dvi support, but i sure as hell cant find any besides the Macbook Pro's.

Are there any other laptops out there that support the 30" screens from Dell and apple?

Best regards

I have bought the 30in monitor (and two 20in), and just got a desktop to go with it. For the little extra cost, you may as well max out what the screen can do and get what you can from it. If anyone is thinking about running it at a lower res, just dont...

hey muppets, read the faq.

you need a video card with dual-link dvi to run the 3007. as far as i am aware, the only video card that can run these is the macbook pro.

it is possible that a very high end alienware device or competitor may also now support this.
