Week 2 NFL Power Rankings
LINK TO LAST WEEK
Tier #1: The big Two Can't see much argument that these two teams deserve their own tier. 1. NE 2. Indy Tier #2: The legit contenders While Denver hasn't outscored their opponents by much, I believe that to be a result of fluky red zone woes. Take a look at their offensive and defensive yardage numbers. Pit leaps Chicago due to looking more impressive. SD drops down a tier. Everything else is fairly similar to last week. Dallas moves up a tier. 3. SD 4. Pit 5. Chicago 6. Baltimore 7. Denver 8. Dallas Tier #3: The wannabe contenders Make it official: I'm drinking the Houston Texans kool aid. Them and Washington make a big leap due to their impressive road wins. I realize Tennesee lost but they looked impressive nevertheless, and their jump up 2 spots has more to do with Cincy, Seattle, N.O., and Carolina losing than them winning. Detroit may be a bit high...we'll find out in week 3 when they go to Philly. 9. Houston 10. Washington 11. Tennessee 12. Seattle 13. Green Bay 14. Detroit 15. Carolina 16. Cincy Tier #4: Middle of the Pack Like always, this tier is very muddled and the teams are pretty much interchangable for now. Tampa and Cleveland both make big leaps due to their impressive victories. The Jets may be 0-2, but they lost to NE and at Baltimore- hard to fault them for that. 17. San Francisco 18. Arizona 19. Jets 20. Minnesota 21. Philly 22. Tampa Bay 23. Jacksonville 24. Cleveland 25. St Louis 26. Buffalo 27. KC Tier #5: The bottom feeders I realize that putting N.O. this low is a huge drop, but they really don't deserve any better based upon how they've played so far. Just horrible both weeks. 28. N.O. 29. Oakland 30. NYG 31. Miami 32. Atl |

Re: Week 2 NFL Power Rankings
Detroit is too high. I watched almost all of the Minny-Detroit game yesterday - it was a total crapfest. Neither one of those teams looks any good.
Green Bay is better than 13th. Philly is better than Minnesota and Detroit, and probably better than Arizona and San Fran although they haven't showed it. Denver is not a legit contender. Neither is Dallas - yet - not with that pass defense anyway. Baltimore should be the cutoff for that group, and then Denver, Dallas, Washington and Green Bay at the top of the next tier (in whatever order). You can toss Tenn. and Houston into that group if you want. |

[/ QUOTE ]Er, the Lions played JT O'Sullivan most of the game. He was useless. I don't think this game is close if Kitna plays whole time. The Detroit offense marched down field almost at will with him playing. Of course as soon as JT came in they played much, much worse. |

Re: Week 2 NFL Power Rankings
Kitna played more than O'Sullivan. And while Kitna is obviously much better, it's not like O'Sullivan was cover-your-eyes bad. Detroit moved the ball with him when he wasn't giving it to Minnesota.
Kitna: 22/33 (67%) 245 yards (7.4ypa) 1 sack 1 td 1 int 86 rating OSull: 13/23 (57%) 148 yards (6.4ypa) 3 sack 1 td 2 int 54 rating |

Way higher percentage, ypa, qbrating. Less sacks. I doubt Kitna turns it over much more. Sullivan lost two fumbles, four turnovers in limited time. Also, Roy Williams fumbled a pass in scoring range from Kitna late. Did you watch the same game? Offense looked totally inept with JTO. Kitna comes back with a concussion and they immediately start moving ball again. |

Re: Week 2 NFL Power Rankings
What are you arguing with, exactly? You said, "the Lions played JT O'Sullivan most of the game" which I corrected, since they both played seven drives. Then I said "Kitna is obviously much better" and posted their stats.
You called O'Sullivan "useless" which isn't true. He wasn't THAT bad. He played 7 drives, which went like this: 1. 2 first downs, punt. 2. 2 first downs, field goal. 3. 0 first downs, interception. 4. 2 first downs, touchdown. 5. 0 first downs, sack and fumble that was not his fault. 6. 3 first downs, interception. 7. 0 first downs, punt. In half a game he put up 10 points. That's hardly useless. It's pretty obvious who the better QB is. I just wanted to point out that O'Sullivan wasn't THAT bad. And he only lost 1 fumble, not 2, and like I said it was not his fault. |

Re: Week 2 NFL Power Rankings
I'm a Steelers fan but wouldn't put them at #4. As far as I'm concerned, they're still on probation until they play a good team. They have looked good though.

IMO you got Balt too high and GB, JAX, and Tampa Bay too low.

Re: Week 2 NFL Power Rankings
I still think SD is close to Indy, and Pitt has looked as good/better than Indy so far.
