NL50 - River valueminraise against bad, loose player
What do you think of this river decision? If the opponent would have bet more I'd have called but he minbets so that makes me think he is just trying to block bet with some kind of weaker hand. Because the opponents calls my raises quite loosely I thought this minraise would have been a good idea in this particular spot. Minraises are usually considered as weak plays so I would like to hear any critics.
Ongame converter SB ($47.25) BB ($21.80) ANTES/BLINDS SB posts blind ($0.25), BB posts blind ($0.50). PRE-FLOP : Hero has J 5 SB bets $1.25, BB calls $1. FLOP: 5 3 T BB checks, SB bets $2.50, BB calls $2.50. TURN: 4 BB checks, SB checks. RIVER: 6 BB bets $3.50, SB bets $7, BB calls $3.50. |

Re: NL50 - River valueminraise against bad, loose player
I forgot to mention that this player is not probably calling a bigger raise with weak flush, a straight or even less. Maybe I could raise to something like 9? I'm trying to extract just a bit extra value with vulnerable hand against his blocking bet in hope that he would call with crappy hands. If he shoved after my raise I could still fold trusting that the opponent would do that almost always with a better hand than mine. Against a strong player I wouldn't do this ever.
