Default 1/2NL game at my B&M beatable? (Crown Casino, Melbourne, Australia)

I'm an 18 year old guy so I don't exactly have a big roll at this point. Here's how it works.

1) Must buy-in for exactly $60 on the table, no more no less. When commencing play you must have exactly that.

2) At any time you can refill the amount of chips you have on the table back up to $60 (provided you have less than $60 at the time of course).

3) Play is 10-handed if the table is full.

4) Standard is usually very weak, mostly loose/passive players.

5) Rake is 10% of pot up to $6.

6) An hourly time charge of $5 applies to all players, and if joining the table after "time", a slightly smaller charge is applied as you get closer to the next time charge.

7) I am generally the best or 2nd best player at the table.

Now I haven't played it a whole bunch (~5 to 6 sessions), and am breaking even within a few dollars so far, but I feel like the game may be unbeatable. The horrible structure makes you play fairly fast I've found. Anyway, enough crapping on, I'd love some opinions from you guys.

Timed rake and hand raked?

god no.

the only way this is beatable is if you were folding hands and everyone else was going in blind.

Hourly + Rake, look elsewhere.

You aren't beating this for any decent amount with this small of a buy in and this insanely riduclous rake.

I feared as much. Sucks that the bloody casino has a monopoly in town. I'm going to a little island south of the Australian mainland called Tasmania for a brief holiday and staying at the casino there. Might take some cash down and see if they have a good game there. But otherwise, Crown is the only B&M I can play at. Other possibilities are a 5/10LHE game and the 2/3NL game. I'm not really rolled for either though.

Just thought I'd add...

Crown Casino now makes $1 billion Australian dollars a year. May not sound like a lot compared to some other casinos in the US and such, I read somewhere it is one of the highest profiting casinos in the world for its size (tables).

No other casino is anywhere within hundreds of kilometres away for the ~4 million people who live in Melbourne. Around 200,000 people visit the casino each day. Monopolising corporations sure do suck balls.

They must take 90% of that off their $1/2 tables...

I have a good friend in Melbourne. He came to the conclusion that the 1/2 NL game is in fact unbeatable. Just play online. If you want to fire off at the casino and get drunk, roulette probably has a smaller house edge than the 1/2 game.

FWIW, the dealers are not permitted to accept tips, so that saves a few bucks.

Rake + drop = gag

srsly, wtf?!

30 hands/hour * $6 = $180
$6 drop * 10 players = $60
Total/hour off table = $240

That's 4 full buyins

Oh ya, and tips

Unbeatable long run is my guess.

Does anyone know what the rake and buy in is for this 2/3 NL game? Also, what's the next limit after 2/3 NL . . . 2/5? What's the rake and buy in like on those games? Also, anyone know the rake for the 5/10 fixed limit game? I was planning on a few month long poker vacation to Melbourne, but I didn't realize how absurd the 1/2 NL structure was. Maybe I'll have to find another exotic location to travel to with a nice cardroom.
