Lesbianism discussion- Is this sexist?
Totally hypothetical. I'm assuming you're a heterosexual male here. (Already sexist?) Suppose you're in a serious relationship or marriage. You come home to find your wife/partner having sex in the marital bed. Does it matter to you what the gender of the person they're having sex with is?
My (possibly sexist) intuition is that if she were in bed with a woman I'd walk in and say something like, "Hey honey, you look like you're enjoying yourself there. Who's your friend? How's your day been otherwise?" Although I acknowledge that women can have relationships with other women equally as valid as heterosexual relationships, in this scenario where I know my partner is either heterosexual or bisexual, I wouldn't really view her as having cheated on me. More important issues would be: -Does she think she has cheated? Somebody's intentions are really a better judge of their character than their actions. -Presumably I'd be annoyed that she has (maybe) concealed from me that she is attracted to women, and obviously the sex itself. My position is such that if she asked me first whether she could [censored] another woman I would consent to it, possibly (depending on said woman) ask to get involved myself. If not, fine. Thoughts? |

it makes sense from an evolutionary standpoint that a man would find it ok for "his" woman to be with another woman.

Re: Lesbianism discussion- Is this sexist?
guys always say this. i've said this. im pretty sure if it actually happended i'd be devastated, lose all trust in her, and the relationship would crumble.
although my girlfriend is pretty quick on her feet and would probably invite me in and convince me it was all a setup for me and they were just getting warmed up. then itd be fine. |

Re: Lesbianism discussion- Is this sexist?
I dated a bisexual chick for 3 years, during which times she [censored] a ton of chicks, and I didn't have a problem with it. I'm a whiny emo bitch, too, so if it didn't both me I think it shouldn't bother anyone.
