Default Censorship on Internet Bonuses board

A straightforward informational post of mine about the current incentives to play at WPEX was labelled as spam and deleted by mod PokerAddict.

I am only a player at WPEX, I have no affiliation or relationship other than player with WSEX or WPEX. I don't believe what I posted was spam.

There has not been a thread about WPEX on the Internet Bonuses board for months. I think it's an appropriate place for the occasional update, especially since incentives have changed significantly since the last thread on the subject.

Are sponsors/mods allowed to censor a board to the extent of disallowing occasional relevant discussion about a particular site?

Thanks,
Benjamin

WPEX spam was a major problem and probably lead to tighter controls on WPEX posts than there would normally be. Also everyone that ever WPEX spammed had similar claims about no affiliation or relationship.

Also have you read the sticky?

This pretty much somes it up. What your thread was about is 7 weeks old. It's been covered too. I made a judgement call and WPEX threads don't get much of the benefit of the doubt to me. Between A/R and IB I delete a bunch of these OMG 75% rakeback is the nuts type threads. Yours I believe was the first by a long time poster but OTOH your post was linked and was nothing but the same old. There is no new bonus (or any bonus really) so it was just a pointless WPEX post.

If 2+2 and/or RTR have a diferent opinion I'm happy to follow that. All of this is covered in the zoo anyway as there are "Official WPEX" threads. I don't see how IB would need one too, especially since they don't offer any type of reloads or even a first deposit bonus. If anything it would fit more in rakeback. In A/R I certainly allow discussions of WPEX as long as the post wasn't complete trash and warrants a discussion. Your post in IB was not going to generate any more discussion then average everyday spam.

I'm happy to do what 2+2 and the sponsor want. My guess is that RTR would answer "Whatever the rule is for 2+2". I'm sure one of the reasons RTR asked me to mod their forum so it could be done by a neutral party so they could stay out of conflict of interest situations like this. This was completely my call and if I'm in the wrong I'm sure a red or RTR will tell me.

Yes, and by it's standards my post was not spam, IMO.

Point about my post being more appropriate on the Rakeback board is noted.

I searched the IB board and found no thread about the changed money added VIP tournies, or rakeback at WPEX, so I posted it.

If IB prohibits non-referral links to poker sites or casinos, then you should update the sticky to say so.

Just to be clear...did you post about a NEW BONUS available at WPEX, or was it entirely about old promotions and/or rakeback.

If so, seems like a clear delete to me.

My post is about current promotions that went into effect more than a month ago.

While the promotions aren't new, they are new to the Internet Bonus board, as far as I can see. Apparently any thread that was started about them since the change has been deleted.

That makes mine the first and only thread on the subject at the time I posted it, as far as I can tell. So, new? Not technically, but new to the Internet Bonuses board, yes. At least in terms of undeleted threads.

It seems mods have the final call and in this case your thread had no value and was fairly public and old information. Deciding it was spam was fairly reasonable if not pefect.

I guess your big goal is to get more players over there. Unless you can enlighten me with another reason(like you are just a really nice guy)? So you have accomplished your goal as you will likely get more hits here then in the original place you posted your, what I would presume to be, a "we need more players" at WPEX type post.

Lord knows they need it. Yes, that's my motive. I'd like to play most of my hands there, given the incentives, but traffic doesn't allow it at this time.

The target audience was a 2+2 newb searching for a site with good bonuses/incentives. The typical 'About These Forums' reader likely doesn't really fit that profile.
