Default weird table selection question

some FT pros have ridiculous stats (like 54/33/1.9/34 stats over 456 hands). what would you say as to the merits of playing 6max with such a player compared to a typical player with similar stats?

what does "typical player" mean? do you mean a non-pro?

If you are asking what is the difference between playing an FTP pro who is a lagtard, and another lagtard, it is hard to say. Most of the FTP pros play decent after the flop, but I haven't really been impressed with any of their play too much. However you can find 54/33s who are just total spew-ers and I doubt that too many of the FTP pros just spew after the flop.

I've played with pretty much all of the "pros" that come down and play in the 5/10 games, and I would say they are on no better (some a bit worse) than the average poster on these forums.

which pro had those numbers BTW? what level was he/she playing?

The biggest difference IMO is that the other 4 guys at your table are more likely to be very bad because they wanted to sit with a pro.

this is true, and usually why I try to sit with them.

The only pro I thought was pretty good was Mike Gracz. I heard he is doing a nothing to $20,000 challenge like Chris Ferguson has done a couple of times. He sits and plays low stakes HU and 2/4 and 3/6 6max sometimes.

there are several, basically any pro whose name ends with -iu

as for david chiu specifically, the website says he's considered to be one of the best in the world specifically for limit holdem. how can that be true?

chiu seems like a bad LAG preflop who plays decent post, I think I've played with him twice when he was slumming at 5/10. I would be happy to have position on him, but I wouldn't really want him to my left.
