Default only hand from biloxi final table that i might have played bad

Ok, I cant remember everything but I will give the basics. I had like 1.5 mil, which was 3x average with 8 people left at the final table of the $10,000 event in Biloxi. Everyone had been fairly tight so far but I had a bad seat, with me being in the cut off when Captian Tom and Bill Edler were in the sb and bb. Anyways, I raised to like 30000 in 6000/12000-2000 (i think) with J8o and Bill Edler pushed for like 200,000 more. Normally this would be an instafold but I had been super agro so far and he knew that I knew he had been super tight. Looking back, this is the one spot that I miiiight should have made a semi-ev play just to get the table down to 7 handed. I mean, if I lost, I would still have 1.2 mil, which would be like 600k more than anyone else and if I won, I would have 1/3 of the chips in play. I folded, but looking back, I might should have made the call. Any thoughts?

So you opened for 2.5BBs

He shoved just under 20BBs

You have J8os.

I can't really imagine that the other factors (having a huge stack, getting the table shorthanded, etc etc) are even close to enough to make this a reasonable call...

aside from the obvious reasons for not calling 20 bbs with j8, i feel like the 15-20 bb stack is prob the most awkward to play deep in mtts. like you have too much to be jamming and not enough to be opening and c-betting all that lightly. it kinda handcuffs you and makes you tighten up and i'd wanna keep bill there.

Oh crap, I forgot why this hand made me think. He didnt push...he raised like 100k more and had 100k behind. I was wondering if you all assume he still has a big hand or if he is trying his hardest to make me think he has a big hand. Sorry for being dumb.

ok, from Bill I'd assume the latter although I still wouldn't go with J8 here, because the latter still smokes your range so bad that its not worth it. I also think the image created is bad for you, even though this is contrary to most other's opinions on the analysis. I feel people will shove wider thinking its all for value with certain stack sizes when they see a call like this.

Even with the 100k he's got half his stack in, he's not folding. Big hand or not, we're behind Q2o here.

This might be an interesting spot with A2o, but we're pushing the bounds of giga here.

Is his stack 200k total or 230k total?
