Re: 20/40 K7 flop spot
River bet is good. Cant really think of either of them having a better hand. Not sure what HJ plays like this but I dont think its a better hand.
Flop seems fine. After HJ coldcalls the flop the turn scares me, but Im not sure what else to do. |

Ben,
I like how you played this hand. I'm not really sure what to do on the the turn other than b/f. What do you do if HJ raises the river? What's your plan on a blank rivers? |

I like donking the flop and calling down if HJ raises more than c/r'ing in this situation. Rest of hand is standard

Re: 20/40 K7 flop spot
I guess you're in AC now (from your previous posts), and I play these games a decent amount. I think after the flop play you're behind a lot here. I think you should just check/fold the turn. The pro has a pair bigger than your 7's I think, and he thinks you're a spazzy punk kid, and he's gonna call you down.
Then again, once you bet the turn, the river bet is good, as a bluff, becuase it puts his 88, 99, TT in an awkward, awkward spot. In general I don't think this works enough in AC to be right. I think its closer to a spew, than a +EV line. |

Re: 20/40 K7 flop spot
sorry, didn't realized you spiked two-pair on river. now its clearly a value bet, because they're calling with lots here. also, you seem comfortable bet/folding, so its easy line for you here.

Re: 20/40 K7 flop spot
The river bet seems like a no brainer to me.
Your turn bet is the more interesting decision, and I am not crazy about it. |

[/ QUOTE ] Would this be an easy call on the turn if you were the HJ and had a pair like 88,99,TT,JJ? I suppose if you had a read that the BB was aggressive it would be, but if your read was the BB was straightforward it might be a little more difficult. I am curious what you guys would do if you were the HJ with these hands. I usually donk this flop but I don't mind the check-raise here. The HJ will bet here 100% given this board and after you check-raise, I think it is more likely he will let go of his overcards since he might be drawing close to dead(from his point of view). I would bet out if the board were 742 rainbow. |
