Default Folding Bottom Set?

Can you ever fold bottom set in a heads up situation? I have been losing lately with bottom set and losing to set over set (on the flop). What would be a criteria for folding? If the board was AKQ and it was a 3bet preflop? Or a 3suited flop?

how high are you playing?

Right now my mantra is pretty much never fold a set.

Now if the board is 4 flush and i'm not holding one and facing a huge bet, maybe....

Set over set is rare and designed to felt you.

go with it.

I'd say yes if it was 9bet preflop and you were 10000 BB deep.

how deep would you have to be to fold bottom set hu? It would take a sick dry board and like 400+ BB for me to let it go.

We had quite a similar discussion yesterday. I made a pretty theoretical expample about when to let go a set.
For me, it has to be like bet/raise/reraise PF and then A or K has to hit the board and I have to have like a set of Js. That's one of the very rare moments when I would think about letting it go...

this is talking hu though according to op. I just can't see folding a set hu without some sick read + really deep stacks.

Deep stacks and a coordinated board, with a very solid read. Otherwise, no, don't fold sets.

Yeah, in my experience set over set is just a variance issue, not one to change the way sets are played, unless as everyone else has said, very deep stacks, very solid read, and very coordinated board.
