A preflop question
Solid Tag(27/17/2) opens in the CO, loose and bad(58/7/0.7) button calls, BB is unknown. Hero is in the sb with A8s. Am I crazy for wanting to cold call here? I also dont think id go lower than this.

Re: A preflop question
LOL at folding here...
I would call Axs and any other playable suited hand like K5s pr 75s. Do a stove Nina. You have excellent eq. Its closer to a 3-bet than a fold with A8s. |

Re: A preflop question
I'd call any suited A, and a lot of other suited connected/semiconnected hands.

Re: A preflop question
I trust the good players here when they advice a 3bet.
From my parttime player perspective the small preflop edge seems to be counterfied because there are plenty of big postflop mistakes waiting for hero. This hand will be complicate to play. BB will coldcall any PP or better A. When Co dont cap Hero has initiative and plays a big multiway pot oop where no one ever folds when he hit the board. An Ace could be dominated a non A board has plenty overcards. The preflop ev difference between fold/coldcall/3bet is smaller than the postflop differences. This is only a clear 3bet when hero has an postflop skill edge vs his opponents. A good player should have a postflop plan in mind, when he makes an preflop decision. This plan seems hard to have/follow in this kind of hands and will be no ABC poker imho. |

call ~ raise >>>>>>>>>>>>&g t;>>>>>>>>>>>> > fold.
The mistakes you are gonna make are much smaller than the mistakes the idiot OTB will make. Seriously, do a stove. Folding sucks! When a bad player has entered the pot you should look for reasons to play a hand from the blinds. Dont look for reasons to fold a hand. |
