Re: how did ferguson do it?
There is an FTP blog report about it. I believe he started at freerolls, then went to micro cash and worked his way up. It said he broke 10k by playing a $10-$20 NLHE table. He was playing both cash games and tourneys.

i already read that stuff. it doesnt ay anything about him being a shortstacker or buying in for the full amount in cash games.
did he build his roll primarily with shortstacking? |

Re: how did ferguson do it?
He had to short stack in the beginning. I saw somewhere where he said he went broke once or twice while at small stakes. I don't know about after he started to build a bankroll. I haven't found anything that says one way or the other.

Re: how did ferguson do it?
I heard his interview on a podcast (full tilt tips).
in that challenge he was doing $1 to $20,000. He said he lost his first dollar playing OMAHA hi/lo split. Moved to NLHE and went through. Bankroll management: Play with 5% of BR on any table. When hit 10% or more on any table leave table. Only play a MTT with buy in <2% BR Early on he didn't have enough to follow it. So in that case it is minimum buy in. Should be able to get it from iTunes podcasts - they're free! |
