Late Play in 100K T\'ment
I don't have lots of experience, but I won a satellite into the Bodog 100K. I played for the first time. I was patient and lucky and made it to final 2 tables. I had around 70,000 chips, and it looked like I was in the top 10 in stacks. However, the blinds were unbelieveable, 12,000/6,000 and before I knew it I was short stacked. Looking back, I now wonder if I should have opened up my range of hands to play because of the costs of antes and blinds. I guess the question is do you open up the range of hands in these situations? BTW, I went out 13th in my first Bodog 100K.

Re: Late Play in 100K T\'ment
Yeah, opening up your shoving range as your stack decreases relative to the blinds is a very important concept in tournament poker. A good introduction is HOH2 (can't remember but was prty sure hoh1 didn't talk about M). After that, look for the pushbot charts and you should be well on your way to learning the basics of late mtt play with a stack of 12 BB or less.
After that, it would behoove you to learn the mechanics of restealing, which usually occurs when you have 12-20bbs. |

Reading these threads can help you figure a lot of tourney specific spots out.

Yeah, I would open up my range a lot. This is discussed in HOH vol. 2.

When you have less than 10bb and a hand that looks pretty, just go allin.
