Default do i need dual graphics cards,

hi all,

Im looking to upgrade my old 2x19" (UltraSharp 1908FP) monitors for 2X30" monitors.
ive chosen to buy 2 Dell™ UltraSharp™ 3007WFP-HC* 30-inch monitors.

but the do i need another graphics card for the 2nd monitor, i currently have just one Radeon X1950 XT which says it has dual dvi.

also will my motherboard be ok for a second graphics card ; its listed below
ASUS P5W DH Deluxe SKT 775 dual-core Core2Duo Conroe ready Crossfire 8channel audio ATX

also do i need to buy the same brand which is :PowerColor ATI Radeon X1950 XT Extreme SILENT Heatpipe 256MB GDDR3 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - or can i buy any other ATI Radeon X1950 XT , do i need the 2nd to me some kind of special slave version or somthing.

im kind of clueless about graphics cards.

anyhelp would be great. thanks in advance

Default Re: do i need dual graphics cards,

1) you need a graphics card with dual-link dvi

2) if you have a graphics card with dual-link dvi with two dvi plugs, i assume that each plug can run a 3007, but i haven't heard of it being done.

3) graphics cards from different manufacturers should generally be compatible - i have a variety of chipsets in my machine

Make sure to check the monitor FAQ for discussion of what these term mean, and pics of the plugs.

you will need two graphics slots to run two X1950 cards. Only very high end computers have this. Make sure you check before you buy another card if you do.
