Default $3.4 - AK l1 vs maniac

Was the push correct here?

If your read is correct, I don't mind it at all, he might have thought you were on a steal and you are way ahead of his range.

I'm more inclined to re-raise to about 650 rather than push, it allows you to play the hand better. The push or reraise will fold the same amount of hands he intends to fold and you will be better priced to call AI, and should extract more value if he suffers from fanciness.

Although i doubt it matters too much, AK is the nutttzzz

Re-raising to half your stack makes no sense. It more or less guarantees your money is going in bad for the rest of the hand or not going in when you're ahead.

If he's a real maniac and will call with a bunch of worse aces and/or kings (or other trash), push. If he's a nit (not likely), call and go broke with TP or better. In between is a judgment call.

Push is fine. Reraising to 650 doesn't accomplish much since you are pot committed.

If he's playing every hand and minraising a lot, this push is fine. He'll likely call something like AJ+ 99+

Nice hand, love the all in as it preys on the impatience of a maniac and when they see that they have the chance to get it all in preflop, they call with any A and other junk that makes this play profitable.
