Favorite night at the movies ever?

Hey friends. With the Oscars this week, and many of us in the OOT big film fans, I was wondering: What is your favorite night at the movies ever? Was it your first date? The first 'R' rated movie you got to see? Some other fun experience at the cinema?

I would say that mine was right before i turned 15 in August of 1991. My mother and two younger brothers were out of town for the weekend, and my dad stayed home with me because I had soccer practice over the weekend for JV. That Friday night, my dad and I went out for steaks at this great restaurant in Oshkosh, WI, and then we took in a fantastic double feature:

- Point Break at 7 p.m.
- Terminator 2 at 9:30 p.m.

We went through about three huge buckets of popcorn between the two of us, and both movies were really enjoyable (my mom never let me go to 'R' movies, but my dad was cool like that and understood I wasn't about to start shooting people with guns if I watched Commando). To this day, I think that's the best time I've ever had at the movies, because my dad is one of my best friends, because both movies were great (T2 might be my favorite action movie ever), and hey, I love the flicks.

So, what do you guys got?

I went to see Alien at a late night showing with a pal when I was 13 or 14. I'd already been to see it during normal daylight time, but this was really, really cool. Started showing at about midnight, and we had to get a night bus home back to his house afterwards. It felt very cool to be out so late - 2-3am - sitting on a bus driving through London, seeing all the party people, weirdos and stuff. And the film was very cool to see again.

One time I went to the movies with my ex. I don't remember what movie it was, but she actually stayed awake for the whole thing, understood the movie, and I didn't have to explain the whole goddamned thing to her. That was a wonderful night.

My best night at the movies was in Highschool when I saw American Pie with my new girl friend. I was a dope and in love and still dumb enough to enjoy myself. The theater was packed and the audience was laughing the whole way through so that there was great vibe. Had a great dinner afterward. Wow, I was really happy that night.

One of the following:

-Had sex in an empty theater during Romeo and Juliet. However, kind of pussed out and didn't finish the job.

-While watching the 10:00 pm showing of Blackhawk Down my buddies called and wanted to go on a weekend roadie to Vegas. Left the movie, took my girlfriend home, was on the road 30 minutes later.
