There is a reason. A reason why education and anything decent sucks...why it will never get any better:

Because the owners of this country don't want that. The real owners: The elitist of Big Business Interests that controls things and make all the important decisions. It's not the politicians. They are irrelevant. They are put there to give you the illusion that you have freedom of choice.

You don't. You have no choice. Just look at the "Free Speech Zones."

You have owners. They own you. They own everything. Just look at "eminent domain."

They own all the important land, they've long past paid for all the senators, congressmen, statehouses, and have the bulk of the judges in their back pockets.

And, they own all the big media outfits. In 1980 50 corporations owned 80% of the media. Today 5 corporations own them.

They spend billions every years lobbying to get what they want. And we know what they want: They want more for themselves and less for everyone else. Since 1979 the top 10% has seen their wealth increase by 670 billion, while the bottom 80% has seen theirs decline by 670 billion.

But I'll tell you what they don't want: They don't want a population full of citizens capable of critical thinking.
They don't want well educated, well informed people capable of the type of critical thinking that can not just uncover the truth, but organize a revolt.

No. That doesn't help them. That's against their interests. So, we're 17th in the sciences and math. They don't want a bunch of citizens smart enough to sit around the kitchen table and figure how badly they're gettin screwed by a system that threw them overboard 30 years ago.

You know what they want? They want OBEDIENCE. They want obedient workers who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork and dumb enough to passively accept the increasingly lousy jobs for less pay and benefits, i.e. Wal-Mart, the vanishing pension the moment you go to collect it and now they're coming for your social security.

They want it back so that they can give it to their criminal friends on wallstreet. And you know what? They'll get....they'll get it all sooner or later: Bechtel, Parsons, Halliburton. Because they own this place.

It's an elite club....and you ain't in it.

It's the same club that beats you over the head all day long thru their media, telling you what to believe, think and buy.

The table is tilted folks. The game is rigged. And nobody seems to notice. Nobody seems to care. Good honest hard working people; blue collar, white collar, continue to elect these rich elitists who don't give a [censored] about them.

And that's what they rely on: The American people will remain willfully ignorant. Because the owners of this country know the truth.... It's called "The American Dream" and you have to be asleep to believe in it.
