my image is pretty agro and I 3bet him a fair amount btw, he has never 4bet me over 115 hands and has shown down aces in a pot where he just called my 3bet fwiw, also about 10 hands before this he won a decent pot off of me with tptk vs my top pair J kick

I think its different against different players, if you 3 bet frequently bet folding after just making a continuation bet seems kinda weak, against someone whos passive id throw out a small bet because he could still easily have a hand like a 6 that hes call a re raise with, or just floasting if hes capable of it. against an agressive/loose player check raising all in or betting/calling are the best options i think since ur still 2 far ahead of thaty players range. In this case he seems tight/passive or so from ur description, just throw out a blocking bet and fold to an all in.

all of this depends on how the match has been going, how often you are 3betting pre and how often he is calling your 3bets. Against some opponents I c/r all in, against others I'll bet turn and river and against others I'll check/fold. Basically we need more info on the match here to give you any advice.

how has the match been going? How often are you 3betting and how often is he calling and folding to those bets? How often are you cbetting after your 3bets? How aggro is the match etc etc etc. Dont have to list all those things i'm just listing some things that will make it easier to respond. In a nutshell, how is villian playing and how does he think you are playing?

villain is generally playing pretty nitty/passive
I 3bet him fairly often and he has only called about 3 times, showing down aces one of those times, I have cbet prob around 50% of 3bet pots bc I feel like i needed to give him respect since he was playing tight. The times I have cbet he has folded, in the AA hand I c/f and he showed. It really didn't feel like anyone has much momentum in the match although he won the last decently sized pot

I dont think he views me as manical, just as a more agro than usual solid player

flop: i think you bet too much
turn: i don't think there's a good amount you can vb, and against a tight player's range your hand is worthless.
