Stars 10 10 min...River bluff line...is this pretty standard?
Stars 10 10 min..about 400 left...I've been all over (down to 105 at one point) and scraped back up to a medium stack...been playing pretty aggressive pre but not too many post flop moves...villan is new to table so no real reads.
on the flop I called the small bet with 2nd pair cause he was last to act and I wanted to see what he did on turn.. after turn I was thinking he had a weak Q or a 9...river makes the flush and I figured my line looked like a FD and that he wasn't strong enough to make the call... Is the line okay? I don't make many moves but this seemed like a ripe spot. Re: Stars 10 10 min...River bluff line...is this pretty standard?
i'm not sure this is a good line so early in the tournament.
i don't like turning our hand into a bluff, since i feel its good a lot of the time against 66-88 or something like that. i might just check/fold the flop and wait for a real hand though and leave my tricky stuff til we're at 200/400 or higher. you're line isn't horrible, but i think there are too many things against you here. you're OOP, against a readless villain, and the tourney is still young. you've got a decent stack to work with and a marginal hand that could win a decent amount of time at showdown without putting your tourney on the line. but don't listen to me, i've been playing so weak-tight lately. seriously weak-tight. unless someone agrees with my thinking, my poker advice is a bit rusty as of late. |

When i reviewed the HH, MP1's line is also consistent with a FD (after his 1/4 pot bet on the turn.) If he put u on a FD, and he's got a Q, he's not going to bet so sm on the turn. His weird line makes his range too wide here to profitably run a bluff IMO. The key to winning these types of tournies is to value-bet like crazy, as opposed to trying to "outplay" weak opponents thru these type of bluffs. |
