Default Trouble staying connected to Poker sites

I just moved into a new house and my room does not have an ethernet cable running into it nor would it be an easy job, especially for a room I am renting. So for the internet I use a Linksys wireless USB adapter. Before I would have some trouble on Full Tilt with the client going in and out some of the time. It was still playable but would put me on tilt. I have read that this is pretty normal with Full Tilt on 2+2. Now my internet is shaky everywhere. I tried to play on pokerstars and I would get disconnected every 2 minutes and take me a minute to get back on.

I have a decently strong signal strength but my packets received will just stop every once in a while and ruin any chance at gaming comfortably. Is there a cheap easy fix to this? Can I mess with some seetings to fix this? Only chance a hardlined internet?

I am not the most computer litterate so explain in laymens terms please.
