help a madden nooob

I just got 08 and i am sooo bad at it. i got the official strategy guide but that was no help at all. all of the buttons and options make my head spin. any pointers on how to get adept and the newer football games??

Best advice is not to play Madden 08 but rather 05.

I got the game on Saturday, and I worked a lot on the skillz drillz and on practicing with the Jets after I set them up as my franchise.

Play against your favorite team. I lose all the time. I just suck at all the buttons. But I stopped tilting with it and can have fun watching Merriman run wild over "my" Broncos or Raiders. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

its a lot like poker to be really good. u gotta practice and study. find out how u run in particular defenses, offenses. u may like pocket qbs better than scramblers, finesse backs over power backs...
