Default Ipod Interface for my Car

I was riding in a friend's mini recently and she was showing off her ipod interface thing that goes directly in her car. It's pretty sick IMO and convenient.

I have a pretty huge library and was thinking that if I could get an interface for my car that it would be much more convenient then burning a ton of CDs.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience installing these things in non-MINI cars, if its possible, estimates?

Thanks

JR

I would try a car stereo store or Google.

If you have an Infiniti, most dealers can hook you up with a direct connection for about $250.

My stereo has a line in input where I can just plug it in.

Edit: because I don't feel like being an a'hole today.

Buy a new cd player that has a line in input, then you can buy a cord to plug in from your ipod. Not sure on cost of new cd player right now, but 300 is a good guess.

Depending on your make and model, for about $150 you can buy a unit that will interface with your stock stereo.

Here's a link to the type (USA-SPEC) I'm using in my G35:

It connects to the back of the head unit as a CD changer. The sound quality is better than any other option IMHO and even beats the AUX my wife is using in her car. As a bonus, in most cases, you can use steering wheel mounted controls (if you have them) to forward through songs on the ipod.

Zameus,

That is really cool... but I have a Ford Mustang that does not have a disc changer. Is there a comparable product that does not require that functionality?

I know this seems like an obvious google-tard, but I did look on google briefly and didn't have a whole lot of luck.
