Stars $10K, AKA How to destroy a bankroll.

Okay, I've decided. I'm in the $10K gauranteed. I have $33 to spend on it. This is my entire bankroll at the moment. I trust my game enough to give it a shot just for fun. This money is easily replaceable.

I understand that a lot of regulars to this forum play in this one. I was hoping that anybody sweating/playing could maybe peak in on me from time to time to see how I'm doing. Any comments on my play are greatly appreciated.

Oh, one question that I wanted to ask:

About the add-on. Is the only situation where I'd want to skip this would be when I've given up on the tournament? What about if it adds less than 10% to your stack?

don't play it. Your bankroll is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too small. It doesn't matter how good you are, the chance of you losing half your roll and not cashing is enormous.

Don't worry about the bankroll issue. This is my fun money for the week, so it's not heartbreaking if I do bust it. I'm more interested in playing against some decent competition.

Try the maniac approach in the rebuy hour hour until you are at 10k+ then and make the add-on at the break, that should give you a healthy stack of 80+ BB at the start of the second hour and just go with some good, solid poker from there.

After all it's still just a 3$ buy-in tourney, so should be enough donkeys out there in the second hour too, who will be willing to give you their stack.

Update: I'm at 8.5k before the add on at the first break. Gonna add, and then back to my freezeout strategy. Got a bit lucky with a nice triple-up 3 minutes before the break.

GAH! Missed the add-on. 8.5k it is. Slightly below average, but I'm still comfortable.

Too bad you missed the add-on, but still got almost 60x BB. Would have been nice with the add-on though, but you should be able to play your normal game the first 45 mins of the second hour and if you don't hit a cold deck, you should be able to build a comfortable stack.
