Default Live tournament ruling

When two players are headsup postflop and the action goes bet raise and then shove.

The person deciding then exposes an ACE and stars asking questions.

The correct ruling would be to call the exposed card players hand dead?

Correct?

Usually not dead, they usually are given some sort of penalty unless it being a dead hand is outlined expressly somewhere in the rules of that particular establishment...

Generally not dead, and this is actually allowed when HU allin in cash games.
