Deal or Not to Deal?
p.s. I'm talking about a cash game not tourney.
what's the concensus here. We play $1/$2 NL in our local bar and have about 20 regulars. They do not all show up every night. Half of them smoke. I am not a smoker and am a huge advocate on not stalling the game and telling them they can smoke on their own time after they fold a hand. The problem is that this still slows down the game. My question is should we still deal them in the hand even though they are outside? more often than not, they peak through the window and they can see a new deal coming and they yell to keep them in and they will be right in so we have to watch them run through the door. This annoys me greatly. Others too. They do not deal you in at a casino nor online in a cash game when you are not seated... should we not deal them in or am I being a nit? This could happen 200 times throughout a 4 hour period. Anyone else have the same problem? Obviously, the smokers think they should still be dealt in. Our rule also is that if they are not there when they are the blinds, they are still dealt in and blinded out. Thanks |

[/ QUOTE ] Maybe in some casinos, but every casino i have played in deals in players who are standing right outside and ask to be dealt in for that hand. And online they deal you in even if you aren't at your seat they have no idea if you are at your seat. I have an idea. If you don't like this let them smoke at the table. |

Re: Deal or Not to Deal?
You should not force them to post blinds if they are smoking outside. With that said, if they are not at the table when the deal is starting, do not deal them in. At casinos when you leave without saying anything/go to have a smoke/go to look up a girls skirt/etc, you are considered to be sitting out. If you have missed a BB or SB, you should post accordingly to come back in or just wait for the next BB. Hope this helps

Re: Deal or Not to Deal?
first of all how do you have any control over what the bar does?
Next I think a good compromise might be to deal them in but they must be at their seat to take action when it's their turn to act. Give or take 5 seconds. For example, player is walking back and is two steps away when action comes to him. I think you can give a little lattitude here...or not. Your call. |

If it's not your game, you don't really get a say.
