So i invest 10 frequent player chips and 3.5hrs and get this for my trouble:

We would like to express our heartiest congratulations to you on winning the $3,000 Super Bowl prize pack in yesterday's 'Super Bowl XLII Ticket Giveaway' tournament.

As per the terms & conditions of the tournament, winners have the following prize options which they can choose to avail of:


1) take the $3,000.00 prize pack that includes 2 tickets to the Superbowl

OR

2) have their account credited with $3,000.00

Please advise us what option you want to accept and we will duly make the necessary arrangements.

I figured to take the 3K because at this point you have no idea who will play in this game and it's a foregone conclusion it wont be my Lions. then i start checking online and see packages for $4k+ per person and individual tickets for 2.7k


my problem? as much as like cash i hate the idea of giving up surplus value to get it.

what's my play?

First you need to look into the details of the prize pack include, ie what is there other than the tickets and can you transfer ownership of that portion as well.

That being said, a pair of SB tickets will likely be worth far more than 3k but the peak time to sell them will be like 5 months from now so you have to weigh in the added utility of having the money until then.

Personally, I'd take the tickets.
