should I always get an addon?

Hi,
I am playing a big MTT tourney, and was wondering if I should get an addon or not. lets say I increased my startchips from 1500 to 6000, should I still get an 1500 chips addon?
I am not sure if this is +ev or not?

yes add on. excepion would be you are "takintg a shot" and investing a decent portion of your bankroll and youve got a big stack already i always add on though.

when I get 6x the buy in, its better to not get an addon? did I understand that correctly? (I am playing in a MTT atm where I got 8x the buyin atm)

nah add on as long as its affordable. i always add on and i always rebuy immediately if its allowed.

do you also rebuy at the very end of the rebuy period? isnt it better to start a new MTT?

always add on unless you are giving up on the tournament. You do this because you are getting more bang for your buck. For instance in the 3r in stars you get 1500 for 3 bucks for your initial 3 and any rebuy, but for the addon you get 2000. I believe almost every rebuy online has something like this.

As for at the very end of the rebuy period. Its up to your personal preference.

always rebuy/add on... you never know when you'll need those chips.

I have always added on except for this one time i was 3rd in chips going into the add-on period.

Excuse the newbquestion, but I just started with rebuyMTTs.
I do understand, that the chipvalue is pretty good at the addons, but I don´t understand that it is +EV to double your BI to raise your chipstack by 5% if you are running good. Is a 5% boost worth that you 1/2 your ROI???
