Default Stars Payout Structure Comparison

The 2-3 table tournaments have a more even payout structure than the 1 table tournaments. For example, the 2-table $16's payout is

1st: $108
2nd: $81
3rd: $54
4th: $27

($27 more for each place, 1st-4th).

In a normal 1 table tournament with a 50%, 30%, 20% payout structure, once 3 people are left, coming in 2nd only gives you 1 more buyin, while coming in 1st gives you 3 more buyins.

With the multi table structure, does it mean that coming in 1st doesn't matter as much?

How should your strategy change if you're used to playing 1 player sngs? I guess I need to do ICM calculations to get the best feel for how the payout structure changes things, but I wonder if people already know this in general?
