Default Calling situation?

Just curious if the field narrows down to 2-3 and everyone limps except one player, and you are holding 4,7,X
X being 10 or higher do you limp if you brought in?

No. Unless you're in a really psychotic structure, always fold your bringin unless it's a steal situation.

(A psychotic structure being something like the Party .50/1 stud games used to be: .25 ante, .25 bringin.)

If you bring in with (A-2)-8, feel free to fold, call, or raise if the action comes back to you. Any of the three options may be correct depending on the situation.

Sorry, you're right. I should have said any typical bringin defense situation. I've brought in at a mostly full table with (A3)6 before, and obviously I didn't fold it. Hands you would play from the field are fine.

ETA: For me, the border on whether a hand qualifies as ok to defend with in such a spot is if it makes a hand on fifth and villain catches a brick, it should be ahead. So you can defend a roughish 9 against (xx)8, but not against a wheel card.

If I have two wheel cards in the hole, and one player completes, I'm Heads Up and I call. Not two players ever unless they both have 8 or better up.
