Re: AJs, maybe a little too weak?
Call down.
I figured I could only beat AK and KK at that point and he was waiting to raise with either AQ or a floppet set. |

well if your read is that narrow then c/r the flop doesn't fit in

Re: AJs, maybe a little too weak?
I didn't really feel my need is that narrow as much as what is a very tight player 3betting me with here that I can beat besides those hands?
I guess I didn't include TT-88. TT is important because he's got 6 outs and 4 of them he really likes. I dunno that's why I made the post, I took a while before checking. |

Re: AJs, maybe a little too weak?
If your opponent really is super-tight you're probably in good shape with that flop. Squeeky tight players might raise with AK or AQ, but they are CERTAINLY not going to 3 bet it. If they did that I feel confident we're looking at a very big pair, and probably not QQ. I'd say KK or AA. Since 2 of the aces are definitely not in his hands, My best guess is that he holds kings.
Since you now have 2 pair, I would bet it all the way. He COULD have you beat but to check the turn is just too weak a play in this situation. He's likely not slow-playing you, but rather making crying calls to the river. Now, if you got yourself raised after betting the turn, I would probably slow down or fold at that point because you're probably up against a set...but I just find that to be improbable in this situation. |

Re: AJs, maybe a little too weak?
I would keep betting. If his range is TT+ AQ+, you are ahead 20 combos to 11. If you include 99 and 88 you are even further ahead. If you are afraid of his six outs with TT, you have four outs with your AJ and I would rather be in your situation than his.

[ QUOTE ]
well if your read is that narrow then c/r the flop doesn't fit in [/ QUOTE ] Yep. OP, there are like zero hands this player will three bet you with that will fold to your flop checkandraise. Therefore, your flop checkandraise is for value. In that case, the four changes absolutely nothing. -McGee |
