Re: Stars 6.50 - Common AK spot check
Reraise all-in preflop. The pot is 315. Just shove it.

Re: Stars 6.50 - Common AK spot check
Yeah, I shove preflop too. 315 is nearly 25% of your stack, the usual amount I want/need in the pot to shove.

Re: Stars 6.50 - Common AK spot check
Meh i have no clue how bad 6.50s are, how likely is CO going to call you with AQ-AT? 66? KQ? Seems like its a standard range problem.
My default line here is to play the same as OP, but at lower limits shoving probably is better since their calling range includes much more dominated hands |

Calling is fine, it still depends on the player in a 6.5 but shove is default.

Re: Stars 6.50 - Common AK spot check
It's been discussed all over. Yes you don't want to flip but you don't want to throw away something like a 57/43 edge or something similar. If you think you are closer to a 60/40 vs his range then you should be shoving. Of course this is if he is always calling, any FE you have only makes the decision easier.

Re: Stars 6.50 - Common AK spot check
I have been called AIPF in 6.50s by 10j and jq type hands more times than I can count. The more I think about it the more I like a push, people looooove to call in 6.50s
Unfortunately they will also call with a lot of PPs as low as 5s, im not quite sure how that affects their range. |

[/ QUOTE ] 55 would help us. AKo v 88+,ATs+,KTs+,QJs,AJo+,KQo is 57/43ish. This is assuming no FE though, so you should really almost always be shoving except vs a really tight opponent in a 6.5 |
