I just flat call so we don't get in this mess. Now I'm pretty clueless too.

the raise was ok your IP so raise the [censored] out of him after the reraise I would probably call and reevaluate on flop

Yeah, I really prefer a call pf...let him donk off his chips on the flop. I guess I'd call the 4-bet and hope to hit something.

Re: $114 AKs L1 getting 3-bet preflop
i prefer a flat call to the first raise. as played, i guess i call the 4-bet, (and then check/fold if unimproved on the flop) but i'm a bit lost.

Vs a loose aggro player, there's no way I'm flat calling pf. If his pfr is 18 he's on a very wide range, and since he sucks, he' probably calling a lot of worse Aces, or Kings, and will stack off on the flop. I guess I'd call the reraise and probably fold if I miss.

Re: $114 AKs L1 getting 3-bet preflop
You're getting good odds to call the rr and you're in position, so I guess I just flat call, but I'm not sure I'm thrilled about it. If we don't improve our hand on the flop then he's probably taking the pot away from us given his LAG stats. I think the good odds mean that we're making a hand enough of the time to make this a good call, though. I'm just not going to be happy the times where we miss the flop and have to give away ~25% of our stack. We can't really reraise though without committing ourselves and it's super early, but our hand is too strong to fold. So I think I'm saying that a call is the best option of the 3, but honestly I'm not in love with any of them if that makes sense..
I like the raise pf for reasons people have stated above. |

Re: $114 AKs L1 getting 3-bet preflop
I would flat call pre-flop. Sure a loose/bad player could be raising with a worse ace, but he could just as easily be doing this with a low pocket pair, and there's a good chance on a low flop you are never going to shake him. And if he has something like AQ or AJ, you can stack him if an A hits regardless (look back on Curtains post on playing AK if you can find it). The main thing is I'd rather not go broke with AK vs. a loose/bad player if I can help it, because sometimes this type thinks any pocket pair is the nuts. As it is now, I hate flat calling for a third of your chips, so I'd either push or fold, and I'd probably push at this point if you think he's loose/bad and could be doing this with AQ. I don't understand people saying you should raise pf because he's likely to have AQ, but then you should just call/fold his raise if you miss, for a third of your chips.
