Default 1st hand of Hendon Mob sattelite, tricky flop

This is the first hand (obviously no reads) of a $24 satellite to the Hendon Mob Shootout Event #1 ($100+$9). There are 27 entrants, top 5 get tickets, 6-8 buy ins back. Anyway, thoughts on all streets are appreciated. Good chance I made the wrong decision here playing for stacks on the flop. I thought about flat calling the flop and reevaluating the turn but came to the conclusion that he is likely betting missed high cards and even if I call and am beat I have 8-10 outs (I was actually about 37% to win). How much should I factor in the fact that it is the first hand of a sattelite? I usually play to survive in satellites - very very tight early, double up if I run into a big hand, and tread water by being very aggressive late as the blinds go up. I feel like my game is way above average at this level and usually cash. Another big problem in this hand is had a really hard time interpreting his min raise.

I'm gonna free hand it because the converter I use is f'ing up.

30/60 blinds, 1st hand everyone at the table has 1500 chips. I'm in the bb with 77, it is folded to the button who calls. The sb min-raises to 60, I call 30, button calls 30. The flop is 456 rainbow, the sb (original raiser) leads for 120 into 120. Action is to me...

Okay I just realized I need to post the whole hand for my description to make sense. I raised to 500, bb folds, sb pushes and I have 900 left. Thoughts on the raise, and then what to do with his push.

sb miniraise makes me a bit suspicous (but as long as we don't know anything about him it can mean alot) - but i would be aware of a big PP.

i think your flop raise is too high. as played here you have to call because of the huge pot odds (1:1,9 - you got 10 outs - 1:1,55 pot odds needed to call.)

with your raise you have committed yourself to the pot.
if you want to raise make it smaller for a better exit strategy.

i would just call the flop and reorientate on the turn - you got many outs.

Exactly - you arenīt deep enough to make this raise, asides from pushing - which makes essentially no sense here as he will fold any hand you beat anyway and just call with hands which have beaten you.

So just call his bet and proceed by odds and outs on the turn.

By the way - a minraise oop against one limper and the BB is more than suspicious for me. Against unknown I literally see "AA" painted on his face.

yeah I have a really tough time figuring out min raises vs. unkowns...

If we do just call on the flop, what is our plan for the turn

As played your raise was too big so now that you are commited to the pot you have to call.

One disadvantage in calling the flop is it allows button to see the turn really cheap and if a 7 hits the turn you could very easily get stacked.

Howevwer raising here is going to get re-raised by SB so that is probably worse.

Call the flop bet and re-evaluate on the turn.
