Default Clinton-Obama on YouTube

link on yahoo

In short: Obama is inclined to presidential-level meetings with some of the world's worst dictators without preconditions, while Clinton is not.

Do you think those meetings would really be that bad idea?
Do you believe US-SU summits couple of decades ago were a bad idea?

IMO more dialogue is needed (without preconditions).

Not much difference really. Wouldn't be surprised to see Hugo Chavez get a state dinner in the White House with either one FWIW.

Its not the government that's subsidizing their dictatorships, its the market. Yes, I went there.

In the interest of not continuing the hijack, I won't respond to that.

To answer the OP, we already talk to many of the countries on the list: Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela and Syria. For starters, Venezuela is not a dictatorship, at least not yet, and we have normal diplomatic relations with them. There have been highly publicized talks with North Korea and Iran. In North Korea's case, there has been a recent breakthrough that will hopefully lead to the dismantling of their nuclear program. The Cuba embargo is retarded and relations should be normalized with them ala Nixon going to China. And to be honest, I can't think of anything Syria has done recently besides screw around with Lebanon.

So basically, I like the idea of talking to these people.
