Default Tree Surgeon ban in OOT

Hey OOT mods,

Apparently Tree Surgeon posted a hotlinked image that turned into a disgusting porn thing.

This happened in bbv a while ago and I went on a MASSIVE banning spree. Then when I realized that the first half a dozen people were actually posting pictures of cute cats, I removed all the bans.

Tree Surgeon pmed me on another account and let me know that this is what happened here. Can you guys unban him or turn it into a tempban?

For those who don't really get it, people get pissed off when you hotlink images and use their bandwith and sometimes convert certain images to really gross porn (girls giving head puking on [censored], etc.). So he was probably dumb and not thinking about the link he was posting in terms of it being hotlinked, but I'm pretty positive he didn't actually mean to post a gross porn image.

wow.

What is ImgRed's business model?
It runs at a 100% loss. There's no income, just bills. This was written just because it's a good idea, not as a means to make money. I hope others will use the source code to create their own mirrors, or incorporate this functionality directly into their message-board or blog software so there wouldn't even be a need for the user to precede the URL with anything.

I'm confused maybe again, isn't who actually bans someone a trackable thing (by the admins)? Or was that amongst the pile of untrackables?

no it is definitely trackable.

too many mod actions with no notes lately, and i am not one to whine about the reds, but we haven't been hearing answers to this sort of thing promptly in some instances.
