OOT, Should I take my buddies little sister on a date?

I'm starting law school soon and have been hanging out with/meeting new classmates recently. Some of the incoming 1ls went out to a small music festival this weekend. One of my new buddies' little sister (she's like a junior/senior in undergrad) came to the same music festival where we were. I talked to her for a while, we seemed to click, and I got her # after she said she'd go to lunch w/ me one day this week.

I'm not sure what the rule are for friends and dating their little sisters. My buddy got pretty protective when another gut started telling him his sister was hot, he wanted to take her out, etc. I don't want to step on my new buddies toes, bc he's a pretty cool dude and we'll be taking classes together for the next 3 years. Help me decide what to do.

I would say that it's sort of a mixed bag here. It sounds like you're not really tight with the guy, so who cares? On the other hand, I think dating his sister straight out of the gate seems pretty likely that you won't end up being particularly tight, either.
