Overseas electronics questions.
I'll be moving to southeast asia, and had a few questions about purchasing electronics.. I can use a convertor to convert 220 to 110, right? Should I just wait to buy a lap top over there? I want to get an ipod, but am not sure of how they recharge.. Will this be an issue over there if I buy it here? Can I buy an Ipod overseas? I want to get a nano, does anyone have any problem with these? |

Re: Overseas electronics questions.
You will need to get the right frequency also. The US uses 60hz where most places overseas use 50hz. Plugging something 60hz into a 50hz plug is not good. Be thankful that most of the time they are different socket sizes and won't fit. Get converter plugs.

Re: Overseas electronics questions.
Lots of modern electronics can run on either 110 or 220, for example both my laptop and ipod which I bought in the States worked fine in Europe. There should be a label somewhere that says AC 110-220 or some such. If youre worried about it you can buy voltage converters at any travel store, but they are more expensive than the simple hole size converters.
