Default Flopped 2 pair... facing a HUGE raise in front!

3rd level in a LIVE $40, 20 person NLHE Tournament.

Blinds 75/150

Previous hand doubled up after hitting 2 pair on flop last to act, checked to Hero, all in for slightly more than pot, called by big stack (SB in hand below) with middle pair. SB recently shown a nothing hand folded to him to prove he is using his stack to bully pots.

MP1 ~ 3000
MP2
CO ~ 3000
Button ~
SB ~ 6000
BB (Hero) ~ 4250

Dealt to Hero: 6c 9c

3 fold, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, CO calls, Button folds, SB calls, Hero checks. Pot = 600

Flop: 6s 7h 9h

SB bets 1200(!)

I've hit 2 pair... but thinking its a dangerous flop given the 3 other callers... and I really don't know how to interpret the 2x pot bet.

What do I do?

(BTW this is my first post, so let me know if anything is unclear/missing). Cheers.

hmhm
i would go all in - pot enough for it, and too many scaring cards may come in the turn
im sure for 85% he hasnt str8 already, maybe any draw - he want to scare or get free river
it looks like he makes reverse psycho and blufs again

There's a lot of money in the pot, and my guess is that villain is trying to leverage a good draw to get it.

From villain's perspective, this raise was +EV, assuming (1) he picks up the money with no callers 50% of the time, and (2) he has at least 12 outs (10h Jh). The fact that you are thinking of folding two pair indicates that the 50% chance of everyone folding may not be that bad of an assumption.

The raise gets a lot more +EV if (1) he has 15 outs (4h 5h) or, especially, if he gets more than one caller.

If he's on a simple flush draw, he's -EV, unless he's assuming a much higher chance of everyone folding, or of getting more than one caller.

I think a set or a big overpair is unlikely here, unless villain is really paranoid about getting drawn out on by someone with two hearts.

Thanks for your replies.

What happened is I reraised, he pushed and I was forced to call for value, but knew I was beaten then. I know I should have just pushed.

But then I was thinking about it and wasn't that happy with it, because:

1 - there were 2 limpers behind still to act, either of these could have limped with middle pocket pair and have made a set and be ahead of me
2 - SB had been showing that he was bullying - this, combined with the unusual bet size might have given me a clue something was going on
3 - I was forced to put my tournament at risk for 1 hand.

He had 8-10 to make the flopped straight, and got paid off for his monster.

Do you think my criticisms are correct, or am I being over self-analytical?
