Flat calling the new restealing
Restealing seems to still work live and late in <$50 buyin online MTTs. However, on Stars and Full Tilt, you are seeing a lot of instacalls with 33/AT/KQ.
Is it better to flat call a raise with a suited connector from the button or blinds? Then villain almost always cbets and you can raise him allin often when you connect in some ways or the board or action make it look like villain missed. |

Re: Flat calling the new restealing
This is really stack dependent.
Are you going to have enough chips to make him fold after a c-bet? If so then you have too much to 3bet in PF anyhow. |

What woodguy said. SNG'ing is better then.

Usually if you are considering SNG, you don't have enough to resteal. Also, say you have 8K in the blinds or on the button and CO raises to 1K. You could push preflop. You could also call. There is maybe 2800 in the pot. CO bets 2K and you push another 5K for a total of 7K. Also, my point is not exactly how to play postflop, but whether call with the intention of often playing aggressively postflop is better, since restealing doesn't have a lot of FE. |

Re: Flat calling the new restealing
betgo-
Here's the problem. The two moves you are describing pertain to completely different stack sizes. I would resteal with with a 14BB stack, but there's no way I'm calling 3BBs and then pushing all-in over over a 4.5BB c-bet with that stack. Both moves have their merit, but each is only effective within a specific dynamic. |
