Default Calling ranges against multiple shortstack shoves

Situation came up recently, and I seem to face it fairly often. Typical $.50/$1 NL 6max game with a mix or shorties and full buyins. You've been aggro, but not spastically so.

You raise from MP to $4 with XX, Button shoves for $20, BB shoves for $40. You have no reads worth mentioning on either.

What is your calling range here?

Against just the Button, my calling range tends to be pretty wide (88+, AJ+), but I'm still not calling with a lot of what I'd raise from MP. I see shorties do this with everything from Ace-rag to 33, but I feel no need to double them up with my entire raising range (although I see players call mini-shoves with crap all day long).

The BB, however, has got to have a real hand. He knows he's going to showdown, and is putting his money in anyway.

The only A I would call with is AK (preferably suited). Call PP QQ+. I wouldn't risk JJ vs. 2 players.

agreed. mostly it depends on the players. from what i can tell the guys with 40 bets are usually the worst of the bunch. I'm never folding QQ+ or any AK, but against some awful players I'd get it in with AJ or 77+
