Default Letter From U.S. Department of Justice

Got a letter from the department of justice asking me about a check I got from web merchant that bounced. the check was from my golden palace account way back in march. what do you guys think this is about? they want me to answer a bunch of questions and send the form back. should I just avoid it? strange I would assume web merchant is being prosecuted for some reason. anyone know about this?

this is disconcerting

p.s. if it's voluntary, ignore it; nothing good can come of it.

Scan it, smudge out personal details, and post in this thread.

So how much was the bounced check for?

It never fails...these types of "The World is Falling" posts always come from somebody with <20 posts.

There's a similar post on Pocket 5s that contains links to the letter (letter, page 1 ; letter, page 2 ), so it is real.

Like Russ said this is legit. Just throw it out and ignore it. Like that other thread mentioned if it was send via regular mail they are just fishing for info to use against this processor. If you send in the info then you could end up tangled up in the whole mess.

I wouldn't do anything unless there's a subpoena in my mailbox

jeez what a bunch of a-holes. I am not trying to cause a rukus. just trying to get some input on this. it is the same letter as the guy who posted on pocket 5's. definitely should raise some brows. sounds like they are going after web merchant for doing business with a gaming site. and yes I am not going to respond as I do not want to be involved.
