Default KK in MP - PS .02/.04

On my re-entry to poker I think I'm doing most things right but sample size is small, so that's not really a solid indicator. I'll be posting some hands that I won and some hands that I lost -- if I have a question about how I played it.

I've got less than 10 hands data on the BB so consider him an unknown. No question about PF. On the flop, is my cap good or should I just call the 3-bet? Since BB is a ? right now, I think I have to cap. Can't be afraid of a possible magic donkey hand and if it's AA, oh well -- it happens.

I don't recall why I slowed up on the turn. On the turn and river, should I be calling or raising? What if I raised the turn and the BB 3-bet?

You're probably not up against AA, which is the good news, but something like JJ could easily be in his range if he turns out to be a preflop nit. Alternatively, he may be going psycho with AJ or something like A2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], which you beat, but the more he raises the less likely that becomes and the more it looks like JJ, or more especially 33 and 22.

I'm all for mashing the flop if for no other reason than to create a decent-size side pot in case UTG beats you both, but after you cap and BB leads the turn anyway, I'm slowing down. You've said you have an overpair and he doesn't care.

I think an unknown at this level makes this standard.

I feel like I never win these hands, but you gotta call down, right?

So what happens if we call the flop 3-bet and raise/fold the turn.

The way I see it is, we are winning/losing 4bb with OPs line.

If we call the 3-bet, raise the turn and bet the river we are winning/losing 4.5bb when we showdown and losing 3.5bb when we fold the turn, is that stupid way of looking at it?

We can't really call the 3-bet, raise the turn and check behind on the river, but if we do that, we are winning/losing 3.5bb.

So given that the difference between any of these lines is 0.5bb, short of folding the flop (lol), is there any other way to play this hand? Or is 0.5bb a big difference in this spot?

Just thinking out loud here.

The probem with your line is that sometimes you will be folding a hand that you shouldn't because villain has something like 32 (we have enough outs to continue) or he has 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]x [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. And the fact that we are playing 2cent/4cent makes the unlikely hands not quite so unlikely.

Yep. I understand that. I'm guess I'm trying to convince myself of why I call down in pots like this when I feel like I rarely win.
